My First Hand Bound Book

This book measures 10cm long x nearly 8 cm wide.

It has six signatures of eight pages each.

The cover is a Japanese screen printed paper in golds and reds. The Illustration is a cherry blossom tree.

The spine is covered in gold book cloth and the end pages are red Chinese paper with gold Asian lettering.

I could tell you the many (technical) things that are wrong with this book, but it looks pretty so I will leave it at first impressions.

It looks just fine from here! Bookbinding is a fluid, ever challenging exercise… enjoy it. Perfection comes after lots of practice, and isn’t always necessary. (It is nice to acheive it though!)
