Here, I am attempting a basic form of Japanese stitching. The pages are double-folded mulberry paper, and the cover is decorated with some scraps in contrasting green shades. The stitching threads have been plaited together, with a little bone ‘fish’ added for extra interest. I stitched the inside pages first, then added the cover. Earlier experiments saw the cover slipping and curling around the book. It was easier to stitch it in two parts. The size is approx 150mm x 150 mm. It is a very lightweight book.
